Worshipping Lord Shiva on Mahashivaratri

siva13

Worshipping Lord Shiva on Mahashivaratri

 Introduction
Lord Shiva is a highly revered Hindu deity, who is the part of the great holy Trinity (Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh/Shiva – the Creator, the Preserver and the Destroyer). ‘Shiv’ means welfare. Shiva is not only a Lord but is also considered as the prime God in the Panchdev Pujan. In the Shiv Mahimna strot, Pushpadant has described him in a wonderful manner by mentioning him as unborn, the reason for the everyone’s existence, creator, nurturer and destroyer.

The hermetic God, with his abode in Mount Kailash in the Himalayas, is believed to be formless, shapeless and timeless. The ‘Linga’ is the symbol of Lord Shiva’s formless nature. The Shiva Lingam is a mystic symbol of Lord Shiva. People pray both to his idol and to the Lingam that represents him.

Lord Shiva, the Destroyer, is worshipped widely by devotees with great respect and devotion. Shiva is considered the easiest of the Gods to please and his blessings are said to possess immense power. One is believed to achieve salvation by worshipping Lord Shiva. From the root of Lord Shiva originated ‘Om’. Hence when one chants ‘Om’, one indirectly worships Lord Shiva.

Video: Don’t Get Cheated Always Cross check Your Medical Bills

This is what happens at Belle Vue Clinic, Kolkata.I took my grandmother to the hospital on 23rd December 2015 and she was discharged on 2nd January 2016.There were instances where I had to complain about the care they were giving to her.
1. Her IV is in place, however, medicine is not switched on from the pipe.

2. Her 3rd channel was wrongly put into the muscle and IV medicine was given to her. This swelled the full hand to thrice the size. I had to complaint for this to the hospital authorities, they were sorry about it, and took care of it. This was a few days after she was admitted.

Nirbhaya's Mother My daughter’s name was Jyoti Singh

Nirbhaya

My daughter’s name was Jyoti Singh,Nirbhaya’s Mother not ashamed to take her name: December 16 gangrape victim’s mother

In a brave homage to her daughter, the mother of the December 16 gangrape victim today took her name in public, and said people who commit heinous crimes like rape should hang their heads in shame and not the victims or their families.
The 23-year-old paramedical student was brutally sexually assaulted on the ill-fated night of December 16 three years ago, and died 13 days later, triggering a massive public outrage. Among many, her spirit continued to live, and in tribute she was given the name ‘Nirbhaya’ or brave heart.
But, today on the third anniversary of the infamous incident that shocked the entire world, the victim’s mother Asha Devi, in a display of extraordinary courage, took her daughter’s name in public.
“My daughter’s name was Jyoti Singh and I am not ashamed to name her. Those who commit heinous crimes like rape, their heads should hang in shame, not the victims or their families. You should take her name too,” she said at ‘Nirbhaya Chetna Diwas’ here, a public event organised by women’s and citizens groups at the Jantar Mantar to mark the anniversary.

Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu responds to tweet Milk for child on train
Following quick response from Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu to a tweet, officials of North Central Railway (NCR) provided milk to a 18-month-old baby travelling in a delayed train.
A statement issued by Chief Public Relations Officer (NCR) Bijay Kumar in Allahabad said the family was provided with milk at Fatehpur and at Kanpur stations. “The train, 12581 Manduadih (Varanasi) New Delhi Super Fast Express, was specially stopped at Fatehpur for two minutes to attend to the baby,” said Kumar. Later, the family thanked Prabhu and the NCR officials, he added.
Officials said a journalist, Satyendra Kumar Yadav — working in New Delhi with a Hindi news channel — tweeted to Prabhu seeking help for his baby, who was travelling in the train with his mother and uncle Anil Kumar Yadav. They had boarded the train from Manduadih in Varanasi early Thursday. As the train was running behind schedule due to fog, milk for the baby had finished.

Bengaluru Gang rape case- Cubbon Park Guards raped woman

Bengaluru Gang rape case,A 30-year-old engineering graduate from Tumakuru was raped inside Cubbon Park on Wednesday night by two guards attached to the park. Night patrol policemen arrested the guards on learning about the incident from the woman who was found abandoned near the Coffee Day junction.
The victim visited Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association (KSLTA) located inside the park to enroll for tennis training at around 5 pm on Wednesday. Since it was a holiday, she was asked to return the next day. She asked the KSLTA staffers to provide her accommodation within the stadium premises. This was turned down. She stayed on.
At around 7 pm, KSLTA staffers asked her to vacate the premises and escorted her to a bus stand located near Century Club and KR Circle.
At around 9 pm, she allegedly returned to the KSLTA insisting on a place to stay saying she was there to ‘become a tennis star’ and that she did not want to leave without achieving the feat. The two accused, whose responsibilities include chasing out stragglers from the park after 7 pm, asked her to leave the park premises.
They allegedly escorted her out of the park once and dropped her off near the Coffee Day junction. She refused to leave and followed them back into the park again.

PM Modi address to British parliament Full text

PM Modi address to British parliament Full text

Full text of PM Modi’s address to British parliament,
Lord Speaker,
Mr. Speaker,
Mr. Prime Minister
I am delighted to be in London. Even in this globalised world, London is still the standard for our times. The city has embraced the world’s diversity and represents the finest in human achievements. And, I am truly honoured to speak in the British Parliament.
Mr. Speaker, thank you for opening the doors to us, here in this magnificent setting of the Royal Court. I know that the Parliament is not in Session. Prime Minister Cameron looks relaxed and relieved.
But, I want to remind you, Mr. Prime Minister, that you owe me royalty for an election slogan. I know that you are hosting me at the Chequers this evening. But, I also know that you will understand if I am fair to both sides of the floor. Especially since British MPs of Indian Origin are evenly balanced between the Treasury and the Opposition benches. So, I also extend my good wishes to the Labour. Indeed, since these are still early days after the election, my warm congratulations to the Members of the House. And, greetings to the eminent leaders of Britain and great friends of India present here today.
So much of the modern history of India is linked to this building. So much history looms across our relationship. There are others who have spoken forcefully on the debts and dues of history. I will only say that many freedom fighters of India found their calling in the institutions of Britain. And, many makers of modern India, including several of my distinguished predecessors, from Jawaharlal Nehru to Dr. Manmohan Singh, passed through their doors.
There are many things on which it is hard to tell anymore if they are British or Indian: The Jaguar or the Scotland Yard, for example. The Brooke Bond tea or my friend late Lord Ghulam Nun’s curry. And, our strongest debates are whether the Lord’s pitch swings unfairly or the wicket at Eden Gardens cracks too early. And, we love the Bhangra rap from London just as you like the English novel from India.
On the way to this event, Prime Minister Cameron and I paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi outside the Parliament. I was reminded of a question I was asked on a tour abroad. How is it that the statue of Gandhi stands outside the British Parliament? To that question, my answer is: The British are wise enough to recognise his greatness; Indians are generous enough to share him; we are both fortunate enough to have been touched by his life and mission; and, we are both smart enough to use the strengths of our connected histories to power the future of our relationship.
