Rahul Gandhi Asks Is ‘Make In India’ Working? Students Shout Yes! :WATCH

Rahul Gandhi Asks Is ‘Make In India’ Working? Students Shout Yes! :WATCH

Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi had an embarassing moment during his interaction with students at Mount Carmel in Bangalore on Tuesday. Slamming Modi government Swach Bharat Abhiyaan, when the young MP asked the students if they saw India clean, the students responded in resonating yes. The Congress leader, however, replied ‘you might see it I don’t’.

It didn’t end here as the Congress MP again asked the student if they thought the Make in India was really working and the students again gave the same reply, making the leader uncomfortable.Targeting the government over rising intolerance, Gandhi said the BJP doesn’t believe in holding talks with the Opposition.
They just know how to silence the voices, said Gandhi. In a sharp attack to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gandhi said, In the Central government today, there is only one man who takes every single decision. It can’t be that he has all the answers to the problems of our country.
A careful view of the video shows stumped Congress vice-president pressing: You see it working? Again, he got a louder Yes than No. But soon he recovered and said: “Ok I don’t see Swachh Bharat working very well.”
Rahul then tried another question. You think Make in India is working? This time, he got a mix of ayes and nays. “You think youngsters in India are getting jobs?” he asked. He finally stopped asking. I don’t see a vision that the BJP is projecting. So for the Congress.
we have to come up with a potential vision for the people of India, he said. I am against the idea that certain people in the country have all the answers, and everybody else should not be part of the conversation, Rahul said, adding that the “suit-boot sarkar, his famous phrase for the government, is failing.
The BJP fast, lapped up on this embarrassment, saying the Congress vice-president should check his facts before making any judgement on progress of government schemes. Rahul Gandhi should understand that they have failed. He was answered by the students today. People are with us and we are working for them, said union minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.

PM Modi address to British parliament Full text

PM Modi address to British parliament Full text

Full text of PM Modi’s address to British parliament,
Lord Speaker,
Mr. Speaker,
Mr. Prime Minister
I am delighted to be in London. Even in this globalised world, London is still the standard for our times. The city has embraced the world’s diversity and represents the finest in human achievements. And, I am truly honoured to speak in the British Parliament.
Mr. Speaker, thank you for opening the doors to us, here in this magnificent setting of the Royal Court. I know that the Parliament is not in Session. Prime Minister Cameron looks relaxed and relieved.
But, I want to remind you, Mr. Prime Minister, that you owe me royalty for an election slogan. I know that you are hosting me at the Chequers this evening. But, I also know that you will understand if I am fair to both sides of the floor. Especially since British MPs of Indian Origin are evenly balanced between the Treasury and the Opposition benches. So, I also extend my good wishes to the Labour. Indeed, since these are still early days after the election, my warm congratulations to the Members of the House. And, greetings to the eminent leaders of Britain and great friends of India present here today.
So much of the modern history of India is linked to this building. So much history looms across our relationship. There are others who have spoken forcefully on the debts and dues of history. I will only say that many freedom fighters of India found their calling in the institutions of Britain. And, many makers of modern India, including several of my distinguished predecessors, from Jawaharlal Nehru to Dr. Manmohan Singh, passed through their doors.
There are many things on which it is hard to tell anymore if they are British or Indian: The Jaguar or the Scotland Yard, for example. The Brooke Bond tea or my friend late Lord Ghulam Nun’s curry. And, our strongest debates are whether the Lord’s pitch swings unfairly or the wicket at Eden Gardens cracks too early. And, we love the Bhangra rap from London just as you like the English novel from India.
On the way to this event, Prime Minister Cameron and I paid homage to Mahatma Gandhi outside the Parliament. I was reminded of a question I was asked on a tour abroad. How is it that the statue of Gandhi stands outside the British Parliament? To that question, my answer is: The British are wise enough to recognise his greatness; Indians are generous enough to share him; we are both fortunate enough to have been touched by his life and mission; and, we are both smart enough to use the strengths of our connected histories to power the future of our relationship.

SunEdison to supply cheapest solar power in India

SunEdison to supply cheapest solar power in India

Cheapest solar power in India,US based SunEdison has won a bid to sell solar power in India at a record low tariff, which could boost the appeal of the renewable source at a time when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is pushing for clean energy to combat climate change.
Solar energy still has a long way to go before it can effectively compete with coal, given questions over consistent supply and transmission. But falling rates could unlock more government support for solar and wind energy.
Modi’s government expects clean energy to yield business worth $160 billion in India in the next five years, and established US  companies like SunEdison and First Solar Inc are likely to be the biggest beneficiaries.
SunEdison won the auction for a 500 megawatt project in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh, bidding to supply power at 4.63 rupees ($0.0706) per kilowatt-hour, Upendra Tripathy, new and renewable energy secretary, told Reuters on Wednesday.
