India Can Win Twenty20 World Cup: Srikkanth

Former cricket captain Krishnamachari Srikkanth today said that India can win the Twenty20 World Cup to be held at home next year. ”T20 World Cup is going to be a huge thing in India. India have always done well in T20 format. 

I am sure India will do very well…probably who knows India will win the World Cup also in 2016,” Srikkanth told reporters on the sidelines of an event here today. 

On the ongoing Test series against South Africa, the former Indian skipper said the home team is doing very well. ”The first Test match (in Mohali) we beat South Africa very comfortably. And in the second Test match (in Bengaluru), unfortunately for rain.. otherwise I think we would have probably won the second Test match as well,” he said

Srikkanth noted that South Africa were beaten “hollow” in the first Test and said had rains not interrupted, they would have met with same fate. ”The confidence level of the Indian cricket team is always high and especially when they beat a team like South Africa so comfortably in the first Test match,” he said.

The Indian contingent brought cheers to the hosts’ camp by winning five medals (1Gold, 3 Silver & 1 Bronze) on the opening day of the Track Asia Cup at the IG Stadium Complex Velodrome here on Wednesday.

Sachin Blasters to post 262 in 2nd T20,Kumar Sangakkara 70 from 30 balls powered Warne’s Warriors to a massive first innings total of 262 in the 2nd T20 match of the ongoing Cricket All Stars League 2015. It was raining boundaries when Warne’s men were on crease.

A total of 21 sixes and 22 boundaries were hit in the first 20 overs.Sangakkara shared a 91-run partnership with Jacques Kallis for the third wicket before the latter was dismissed from India’s newly retired cricketer Virender Sehwag. The same over, Klusener removed on-fire batsman Sangakkara, who looked well on way for an excellent century.However, those breakthroughs did not slow down the runs in Warriors’ account. Andrew Symonds and Jhonty Rhodes were in next who finished innings unbeaten on 19(6) and 18(8) respectively.
